Once again I find myself wishing I had a macro lens. I've tried reversing my lenses, but that ends up being too macro. Even when I adjust the zoom and make it farther away it just gets a more intense vignette. So that wasn't working. I just cropped in where I wanted this one - which means sacrificing photo quality.
Coming up with different ideas with marbles is getting tough and it's only 1/4 of the way in to the challenge! Ideas anyone? :)
Maybe gettig different ideas is difficult but as long as you have interesting marbles like this I think you will manage.
ReplyDeleteI like the border you have used here a lot.

This is such a pretty marble, it reminds me of a christmas ornament. And such a lovely background.
ReplyDeleteI like this one. Like some sort of planet or something. The slight blurry bokeh in the background is really effective.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about reversing a lens making it a little TOO close. It's a whole diferent way you have to think of things. Although it could be a good way to show us the designs INSIDE the marbles.
Very pretty shot. I like what you did with the border.
ReplyDeleteIdeas:
ReplyDelete1. Could you maybe do some more stuff with mirrors?
2. Marbles in motion
3. Frozen marbles
4. Smashed marble
5. Marble in a flame
6. Marble in water
7. Marbles in bubbles
I love the texture of this marble. I guess they're not quite as smooth as they seem? I haven't left comments for a while, but my favorites so far are Day 7 and the snow picture. You are doing so well!
ReplyDeleteI've found myself wishing I had done this type of challenge so I only have to worry about how to do my photo, and not what subject to choose. Maybe it's not as easy to do that as I thought!
I know you'll continue to think of things. Here are some ideas:
Arrange marbles like the solar system.
Hold a bottom layer in place with tape or glue and build a pyramid.
Make a miniature "snow" man.
The color of this one is unique and I like the blurred background. Impressive how many ideas you've covered already. You might drop one into a glass of water to catch the splash. I'm sure your ideas are better than any I would come up with!
ReplyDeleteIs this our beautiful friend from Day 4? I really love the composition, detail and shallow dof in this shot!! Actually I love everything about it :-)
ReplyDeleteAlthough I don't like the frame because I find it distracts from the final image, the pearly light and texture is amazing.
ReplyDeleteGreat texture and colours on this marble. Makes my marbles look positively dull! ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is that basketball marble, so very pretty..and the border is such a nice touch :)

This is one of my favorite of your marbles. For ideas how about putting marbles where you wouldn't normally find marbles.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful marble, captured expertly by you! I like the border and writing at this late stage know that you are finding good ideas!
